My name is Danna Donovan. I studied and received my degree in Art in Portland, Oregon. I moved to Florida in 1999 and worked in a variety of jobs, always seeking my passion and never finding it. In 2016, I was awakened in the middle of the night with what I believed was a heart attack; after “seeing the light,” so to speak, my focus changed, and I began to paint.
I found my passion. It all came back to me with a new joy and bliss.
My work is meant to be shared and enjoyed. I am not an artist who is here just to do the work and let it sit around somewhere gathering dust. I feel that each piece was purposed and given to me for a specific person or group. My mission is to paint and then to make sure the piece I created connects to the owner. I want to leave the beauty and essence of the piece to the world.
I am the soul’s storyteller.
My work is texturized and created in multi-medium using metallics in each piece. The metallics give it an energy of its own, a movement you feel with your eyes and soul.
I create large pieces. Most are 60 x 48 inches on canvas. Earlier works were on wood with acrylic and other mediums mixed with the metallics. Anything in nature or around me can become a tool with which I create the piece. Imagination is the only limit.
Each piece comes from another place within me as the artist; the purpose is to find the person to whom it belongs; they will know that the piece was created for them because each speaks to the inner soul.
A communication will take place, and you will know it is for you.
View my collection and see if you have found what you were seeking; if it has not arrived yet, then contact me and let me listen until I find the voice of your soul (your story) and create the piece especially made for you.
